flakes of skin burn away
blood boils
light burns the flesh away
my mind is no longer there
waking up for a dose of infection
dead skin forms an inflammatory sore
i turn on the light to scratch the sore
the light burns the corneal skin
from my hair and nails
(my arms and legs)
my body burns with i n f e c t i o n
hate becomes infection
love is the dis-infection
the outer layers are dead
but what about the inside?
we turn ourselves inside out
we turn ourselves into disease
we turn each other into disease
we're more than infection
more than just layers of dead skin
